![]() The Lolita apparel is made up of a few components such as the top, skirt, or dress. There are many more classifications but these are the main three. Lolita can be classified in three categories Gothic, Classic, and Sweet. Overall, a display of cuteness rather than sex appeal. ![]() Lolita is a Victorian-inspired look, its purpose is to rebel against hyper-sexualized clothing/culture. I feel that Lolita fashion is misunderstood and almost fetishized. Often a style a lot of people associate with Japanese culture. Lolita is probably one of the more well known street fashions. I’ll go into four subcultures which are: Decora, Visual Kei, Lolita, and Mori. ![]() I wanted to focus on Japanese street fashion for a while because it’s a style I’ve been loving to wear and one that I can see portrayed in Western fashion as well. It’s interesting to see how every country portrays their version of street style/ fashion. With many luxury brands replicating looks from prior collections to fit the upcoming trends now. ![]() Street wear is an aesthetic that is taking over the fashion industry. Aesthetics are something that I love but I can never settle on.
